NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — One of the two Black Democrats who were expelled last week from the GOP-led Tennessee House was reinstated Monday after Nashville’s governing council voted to send him straight back to the Legislature.
The council vote sends Rep. Justin Jones back to the Capitol after just four days.
Republicans banished the two lawmakers over their role in a gun-control protest on the House floor in the aftermath of a deadly school shooting.

Veteran receiver Lewis ready to be face of Edmonton Elks franchise
Eugene Lewis welcomes being the face of the Edmonton Elks’ franchise.
Edmonton made a huge splash when it landed the all-star American receiver Feb. 14, the first day of CFL free agency. Lewis signed a two-year deal reportedly worth $320,000 annually, which would make him the league’s highest-paid non-quarterback.
And Lewis is ready to shoulder the weight of responsibility that comes with being a club’s marquee player.
“Absolutely, I was born ready for this,” Lewis -

VanVleet, Toronto Raptors lock in on Chicago Bulls for play-in game
TORONTO — It’s almost a luxury for Fred VanVleet and the Toronto Raptors to have several days to prepare for just one opponent.

The winner of that game will go on to face either the Miami Heat or the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in the second -

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Whitecaps know the odds aren’t in their favour, but they’re presenting an optimistic front.
Facing a 3-0 deficit against one of only two undefeated teams in Major League Soccer, the Whitecaps maintain they can get a result against LAFC in the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions League matchup on Tuesday.
Vancouver lost the first leg in front of a home crowd last week, conceding three goals in 10 minutes.
