OTTAWA — The Conservative Party of Canada says it made a mistake in failing to give notice of a fundraiser held by disqualified leadership contestant Patrick Brown.Spokeswoman Sarah Fischer says the party did not post details of the $1,700-per-ticket event Brown held last week on its website, which is required by Elections Canada.
Brown, who is currently mayor of Brampton, Ont., held the fundraiser to help pay down the campaign debt he accumulated during last year’s leadership bid.Th

LANGLEY, B.C. — Health Canada has granted a British Columbia cannabis company the right to possess, produce, sell and distribute cocaine.
Adastra Labs says in a news release that Health Canada gave it approval on Feb. 17 for an amendment under its controlled substance dealer’s licence.

ST. THERESA POINT, Man. — RCMP say two teenage girls died in the cold outside a home on a remote First Nation in Manitoba.
Mounties were called after the 14-year-old girls were found Wednesday in St. Theresa Point First Nation, a fly-in community about 610 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins have signed forward David Pastrnak to an eight-year contract extension that will pay him $90 million — the sixth-largest deal in NHL history.
The deal locks up one of the league’s MVP candidates through the 2030-31 season for $11.25 million a season. He had been eligible to become a free agent after this season.
