WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets acquired forward Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators on Saturday in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Niederreiter, 30, recorded 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists) over 56 games for the Predators this season.
He has 396 points (199-197) over 788 career NHL games with Nashville, the New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes. Niederreiter also has 30 points (15-15) in 82 career playoff games.

SURREY, B.C. — British Columbia Premier David Eby has announced another round of the BC Affordability Credit to help offset inflation costs as he marked 100 days at the province’s helm.
The province says around 85 per cent of British Columbians will receive a full or partial payment as early as April 5 through the Canada Revenue Agency, just like the funds given in January.

VANCOUVER — Environment Canada says heavy snow is expected across much of British Columbia this weekend as a weather system moves from north to south across the province.

A remote northwestern Ontario First Nation lacked the facilities to extinguish a house fire that left one dead and two others unaccounted for, the local chief said as she called for government help in bolstering fire services.

LONDON (AP) — Chelsea manager Graham Potter says he and his family have received death threats in the wake of the team’s poor form.
Potter said Friday he had been targeted by an anonymous email account.
Potter, who has said previously that he believes he has the hardest job in football, spoke of the toll that recent months have taken on him personally, and bullishly rejected accusations that a calm demeanor in the face of adversity means he does not care about the club.
