Crews find wreckage of fatal B.C. plane crash, TSB team deployed to the site
PORT HARDY, B.C. — The wreckage of a Cessna float plane has been found in Strachan Bay on British Columbia’s central coast two days after it crashed, killing all three aboard.
Cpl. Alex Bérubé says in an email that a crew with the RCMP West Coast Marine Service located the wreckage as it conducted a search of the crash site.
An RCMP dive team is on its way to Strachan Bay to assist with further recovery efforts.

Federal government to extend EI sickness benefits from 15 to 26 weeks
OTTAWA — Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough says the federal government is extending employment insurance sickness benefits to 26 weeks, up from 15 weeks.
According to a news release, workers applying for EI will be eligible for the more generous benefits starting Dec. 18.
The maximum length of unpaid medical leave available to federally regulated private sector workers is also being extended to 27 weeks from 17 on the same date.
