“I see it — and I just want to quit,” he said, with a laugh.
Messing once dreamed about being history’s first to land the most difficult jump in figure skating, but the 30-year-old said age caught up with him.

VICTORIA — The safe repair of power lines along Highway 1, is forcing the closure of the busy roadway through Coquitlam this afternoon (Oct. 27). Highway 1 westbound is closed at Brunette Avenue while Highway 1 eastbound is closed at Gaglardi Way.

OTTAWA — Canadian police chiefs are urging the federal government not to rely on resource-strapped police forces to carry out a planned gun buyback.

OTTAWA — The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry is calling for a comprehensive flood control plan for British Columbia’s Fraser Valley following last year’s catastrophic floods.
Last November, historic rainfall caused flooding of 15,000 hectares of land, affecting more than 1,000 farms and 2.5 million livestock, washing out highway and railway infrastructure, and causing an estimated $285 million in damage.

OTTAWA — Up to a quarter of federal government employees are still experiencing problems with their pay because of the troubled Phoenix pay system, and the government might be running out of time to collect on overpayments.
