COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A judge extended a temporary block Tuesday on an Ohio law banning virtually all abortions for an additional 14 days, further pausing a law that had taken effect after federal abortion protections were overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in June.

VICTORIA — Dozens of Victoria, B.C., seniors have staged a rally at a former school field to demand more elder-friendly park space, contrasting their situation with facilities available to youth that include a new skateboard park nearby.
About 100 seniors, many using walkers and motorized scooters and carrying placards, took part in the protest near the land owned by the Greater Victoria School District, and say they are being shut out of green space near their homes.

Iran sanctions, terrorism listing unlikely to pressure regime, experts say
OTTAWA — Iran experts say Canada has limited leverage to pressure the regime to stop its violent crackdown on human rights.
Large protests have erupted across Iran since a 22-year-old woman died in police custody this month after being arrested, allegedly because her head scarf was too loose.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday that Canada will sanction senior Iranian officials, and some Liberal MPs, including Ali Ehsassi, say the United Nations must do more on a global scale.
