TORONTO — The Toronto Raptors have signed guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. to a two-way contract.
The six-foot-three, 185-pound Dowtin joined the Raptors for this year’s NBA Summer League, where he averaged 16 points, 4.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 28.1 minutes in four games (all starts).He shot 57 per cent from the field, including 36.4 per cent from three-point range.

TORONTO — Winnipeg wide receiver Greg Ellingson, Edmonton receiver Kenny Lawler and Hamilton quarterback Dane Evans have been named the top performers for Week 6 of the 2022 CFL season.
Ellingson had 11 catches for 152 yards in the Blue Bombers’ 26-19 win over Calgary on Friday.

Random COVID-19 testing resumes at four major airports; tests to be done offsite
Mandatory random COVID-19 testing resumes today for travellers coming in through Canada’s four major airports in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal.

Canada’s western provinces are dealing with a number of wildfires caused by warmer and drier weather.
