    New rental renovation bylaw in Chatham-Kent aims to deter renovictions
    Chatham-Kent council has adopted a rental renovation licence bylaw that is aimed at reducing the incidents of renovictions that could unjustly evict tenants from affordable housing.The new bylaw, passed at the June 22 council meeting and slated to go into effect Oct. 1, puts a large onus on landlords to prove if needed renovations to units require tenants to move out.It has been widely reported that landlords across the province have misused N13 applications, under the Residential Tenancies Act
