  A man was rescued by Chatham firefighters on Friday after his boat went adrift on the Thames River. With numerous chunks of ice flowing by and water levels elevated for the past few days on the river, the man was trying to secure the boat more tightly when complications arose and the boat came free.   A man being charged with impaired driving after a tire coming off a vehicle and struck a police cruiser while an officer had stopped another vehicle, said Chatham-Kent police.
