    A man was rescued by Chatham firefighters on Friday after his boat went adrift on the Thames River. With numerous chunks of ice flowing by and water levels elevated for the past few days on the river, the man was trying to secure the boat more tightly when complications arose and the boat came free. An SUV and a pickup collided at Selton Line and Orford Road near Thamesville about 3:44 p.m. Monday, police said.
