  A new report by a union representing hospital workers predicts a drop in provincial funding is increasing wait times while forcing hospitals to cut beds and the public health care system to lose workers. A spokesperson for Ontario’s health minister, meanwhile, said the union’s claims “are misguided.” The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions on Tuesday released the report, which is entitled “Driven to the brink: cuts to intensify Ontario’s hospital crisis.”

• Ontario funding two-thirds of Bancroft dam rehab

  Ontario will provide Bancroft with $2.2 million to rehabilitate a water-control dam in the town, Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee announced Wednesday.
