• CUPE calls for more hospital funding, predicts cuts and longer waits

    A new report by a union representing hospital workers predicts a drop in provincial funding is increasing wait times while forcing hospitals to cut beds and the public health care system to lose workers. A spokesperson for Ontario’s health minister, meanwhile, said the union’s claims “are misguided.” The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions on Tuesday released the report, which is entitled “Driven to the brink: cuts to intensify Ontario’s hospital crisis.”
