    Community being called on to help those struggling to get by
    Area food banks are looking to the public to help feed those less fortunate.
    The Central Food Bank is hosting a donation drive at the Bancroft Foodland on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Organizers say it supports a wide area including food banks in Cardiff and Wilberforce and they are most in need of items including tuna, canned corn and vegetables, baked beans, soup and pancake syrup.

    Drivers reminded about school bus safety
    Slow down, take your time and be observant.
    That's the advice from police to drivers as schools continue to open up for the new year throughout the area.
    East Region OPP Sgt. Julie Anne De Groot says put your cell phone away if you're behind the wheel.
    She says road safety is a shared responsibility.
    "Everybody wants to make sure that everybody gets safely to school and work, slow down, stop for school bus arms and school crossings so everyone can get to their destination safely."
