• Hamilton seizes on Vettel blunder for pole in Japan; Stroll in 14th

Lewis Hamilton said he believed Ferrari were cracking under the pressure of the championship fight after he claimed pole position for this morning’s Japanese Grand Prix.
Lance Stroll of Montreal qualified in 14th place in his Williams Mercedes.
Sebastian Vettel, who went in to the race 50 points behind Hamilton, lined up only ninth after an embarrassing tire blunder by Ferrari cost the German dearly in qualifying.
It did not help that Vettel, too, was culpable of another error as, in attem

Compounding the problem, such caregivers are so focused on those they are helping that they aren’t even aware or and take time to attend to their own needs. B

  • Leonard Cohen gets last word in posthumous book

If you’ve got it handy, pull out your copy of Songs of Leonard Cohen — LP or CD, though the former is better, being bigger — and look at the back cover. The image there, often assumed to depict Joan of Arc being burned at the stake, is in fact a piece of Mexican religious folk art, chosen by Cohen to represent, in his words, “the triumph of spirit over matter — the spirit being that beautiful woman breaking out of the chains and fire and prison.”
