• Speedy prospect Nick Suzuki is key to Pacioretty trade for Canadiens

Nick Suzuki, a 19-year-old forward, is the key return in the trade that sent Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Canadiens also obtained NHL veteran Tomas Tatar and a second-round draft pick next June, but general manager Marc Bergevin made it clear that Suzuki is part of the Canadiens’ plan to get younger and faster.
“Vegas selected him 13th overall and we had him at 11 on our list,” Bergevin said Monday prior to teeing off at the Canadiens’

Forget the Quebec election campaign. Forget NAFTA. Forget Oval Office lunacy. The Max Pacioretty trade seemed to pretty much trump other conversations in town Monday, even Trump talk.

Someone is not telling the truth. It’s as simple as that.
Max Pacioretty and his agent, Allan Walsh, spent the past several weeks insisting that the captain of the Canadiens wanted to stay with the team and that he never asked for a trade.
Here’s what Walsh said on TSN 690 a few days ago: “I would tell you this and I’m going to say it directly and I hope everybody hears me and understands this: Max Pacioretty has never, never ever requested a trade out of Montre
