• Montreal student in Vermont suffers critical injuries after struck by motorcycle

    CAMBRIDGE, Vt. — Vermont State Police say a 22-year-old man who was struck by a motorcycle has suffered critical injuries.
    Authorities say 68-year-old Jean Louis Mondou of Quebec lost control of his motorcycle while making a sharp left turn around 12:40 p.m. Saturday in Cambridge.
    He struck Pierre Chenel, who was walking along the side of the road. Chenel, of France, who is a student in Montreal, suffered head injuries. He was in a hospital in critical, but stable condition.

    The body of a 75-year-old Montreal man who went missing in the Laurentians on Friday was found early Sunday afternoon, the Sûreté du Québec says.

    Quebec’s roads and borders will be packed on Sunday as vacationers return from the 2018 construction holiday.
    Anticipating the increased traffic, police will also be more present on the roads. According to the Sûreté du Québec, there have been 12 accidental deaths on the roads over the last two weeks. During the same period last year, 23 people lost their lives on Quebec roads, said the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec.

    The Sûreté du Québec is continuing their search for a 75-year-old Montreal man who went missing in the Laurentians on Friday.

  • Man arrested following stabbing at Berri bus terminal

    A 26-year-old man was arrested by Montreal police after he allegedly stabbed a man at the Berri bus terminal Saturday night.
    Police say that the 32-year-old victim was stabbed in the upper body around 9:45 p.m. in a drug-related fight. He was brought to hospital to be treated for his injuries but his life is not in danger.
    The suspect, who had fled from the scene, was arrested shortly after.

    A 45-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a car Saturday night in the Laval neighbourhood of Chomedy.
