Samela Raissa came to Canada by a somewhat circuitous route. She grew up in Brazil, but moved to mainland China when she was 16 with her parents who were missionaries. When it was time to further her education, she headed for the island of Macau (a former Portuguese colony and now an ‘autonomous region’ of China), to study business at the University of Saint Joseph.
While there, she met Eloa Defly, a fellow student, who had earned a degree in technology and was working on a second de

Note that I did not call la Saint-Jean by its real name since 1977, the Fête nationale. A year after gaining power, René Lévesque made the change to create a more inclusive holiday, as opposed to a Catholic, French-Canadians-only-need-attend ce
