Canada and Quebec had an exceptional year for job creation.
From November 2016 to November 2017, 390,000 jobs were created in Canada, a growth rate of 2.1 per cent.
In Quebec, the growth rate was 1.9 per cent, with 78,000 jobs created.
Job growth was highest in Ontario, with a 2.6-per-cent increase in jobs and 180,000 jobs created.
Unemployment numbers also confirmed the improvement in the jobs picture.

Two injured, 15 evacuated in Quebec City apartment fire
Quebec City firefighters rescued a man in his fifties Friday night when a fire broke out in his apartment in suburban Ste-Foy.
The fire’s cause is unknown. It started around 8:15 pm in the apartment, on the 3rd floor of a 19-unit building. About fifteen residents were evacuated.
The flames were intense, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and evacuate the tenant before the fire spread to other apartments.
