The two Canadians killed in a suspected terrorist attack in Burkina Faso have been identified as Tammy Chen of Ontario and Bilel Diffalah, a volunteer for a Quebec-based anti poverty group.
The incident happened late Sunday when suspected Islamic terrorists opened fire at a Turkish restaurant in the country’s capital, killing 18 people in all.

The inaugural Run for Hope takes place at Centennial Park in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residences evacuated after "suspicious package" found in NDG
Residences in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce were evacuated and several roads were closed Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious package was found outside a business on Monkland Ave.
Montreal police confirmed they found the package outside the business, near the corner of Coronation Ave.
A security perimeter was established to protect the scene. The evacuation was a method of prevention, police said.

Collision in Lanaudière region closes part of Highway 125
A collision involving two vehicles closed part of Highway 125 in Ste-Julienne in the Lanaudière region on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were on the scene, and part of the highway was closed near Du Camping St.
Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Marc Tessier could not yet confirm the nature of the injuries.
He said it is possible one person was stuck inside one of the vehicles. -

Les Canadiennes de Montréal acquired goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer from the Calgary Inferno, general manager Meg Hewings announced on Tuesday.

Laval police search for missing 17-year-old boy
Laval police are searching for a 17-year-old boy who was last seen on July 27. According to police, he could be in the Montreal North area.
Hugo Sigouin-Fortin speaks French, weighs 125 pounds and is five feet 11 inches tall.
He has short brown hair and brown eyes, as well as a tattoo on his neck that reads “Gucci” and a rose tattoo on his left forearm.
His family is worried for his safety.

Alouettes acquire defensive-back Tevaughn Campbell from Roughriders
When Jim Popp was the Alouettes’ general manager, he traded a first-round draft choice to British Columbia for quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.
On Tuesday morning, Montreal traded Adams to Saskatchewan for Canadian defensive-back Tevaughn Campbell.
