  • Injured woman airlifted after explosion and fire at Abbotsford RV park

    A 68-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital after a fire in an RV park in Abbotsford on Monday night (March 2).
    Const. Paul Walker, media officer with the Abbotsford Police Department, said patrol officers were travelling west on Fraser Highway near Ross Road at about 7:15 p.m. when they saw a large plume of smoke.

    The B.C. government is beginning its court-ordered negotiations to resolve issues of conflicting title claims on private land encompassed by the Cowichan Tribes land rights case.

  • Abbotsford sees small increase in drug deaths in 2025

    Fatal drug overdoses are once again on the rise in Abbotsford, despite the rest of the province seeing a substantial decrease for 2025.
    The year-end report from the BC Coroners Service revealed that Abbotsford is one of the few cities that had more deaths in 2025 than in 2024, climbing from 75 to 76.

    Chilliwack RCMP will not be identifying the body of a 68-year-old woman recovered Saturday in a remote area along a forest service road in the Chilliwack River Valley.

    Threats made to Nechako Valley Secondary School were found to be not credible, according to Vanderhoof RCMP.

    Charges are pending against a 19-year-old driver after she allegedly hit a building and two vehicles lin Abbotsford on Sunday.

    For the second consecutive year, the MEI Eagles senior girls basketball team is leaving provincials with a medal.
    The Eagles completed the 2025-26 season with an 84-55 win over the Semiahmoo Thunderbirds in the third place game to earn the 4A bronze medal on Saturday (Feb. 28).

  • VIDEO: Worker trapped in emergency at Langley Events Centre

    Langley Township firefighters and BC Ambulance paramedics were on scene for an emergency at the new arena complex at the Langley Events Centre on Monday morning.
    A worker was apparently trapped in an excavation, possibly between foundation walls, sometime before 8:30 a.m.
    Just before 9:30 a.m., firefighters extracted a person from the gap. He appeared to be conscious, and was being attended to by first responders.
    There were two ambulances, three fire trucks, and Langley RCMP on scene.
