• Man charged for 2022 Okanagan double homicide

    A 36-year-old man has been charged in relation to a 2022 double homicide in the Penticton area, the RCMP said Saturday, Mar. 7.
    The BC Prosecution Service has approved two counts of first-degree murder Yves “Oliver” Grenier in connection with the deaths of Douglas Barker and Alannah Brown.
    The E-Division District Major Crime Unit laid the charges, which were sworn in Friday, March 6.
    Grenier has since been arrested and remains in custody.

    An upcoming concert featuring five bands will raise funds to help keep a skate park in Hope open.
    The event, Save HMI Skatepark Fundraiser Concert, is set for Saturday, March 14.
    The punk rock show features bands Cop Shuvit, The Spewers, False Flags, The Bobby’s, and The Fomites. It is hosted by SKG Promotions.
    The indoor skate park is trying to raise $30,000 by April in order to renew its three-year lease.

    Windy conditions are expected throughout the B.C. Okanagan, northern regions, and Eastern Fraser Valley, and Kootenays on Saturday, Mar. 7.

    Murray Garth Anderson passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving partner to Linda Scott, a devoted father to Rob and wife Paula, Laura, and a proud stepfather to Carly and Chris and wife Fran.
