Breece Hall may have to be patient before returning to the field with the New York Jets. The star running back is currently dealing with a quadriceps injury and will not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Hall's status will be reevaluated on a weekly basis. As a result, it appears highly uncertain whether he will play in Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
Hall was injured in the fourth quarter of the 31-24 loss to the Detroit Lions. He was tackled after st

Red Sox veterans criticize their manager
via dose.ca
For the second straight game, the Boston Red Sox starter pitched four and two-thirds solid innings before being pulled from the mound and replaced by the bullpen. In the first matchup against the New York Yankees, it was Payton Tolle, while in the second, Sonny Gray bore the brunt of manager Chad Tracy's decision.
And in both cases, these were disastrous choices for the Red Sox, as the Yankees crushed the Sox's relievers to cruise to 9-0 and 9-2 victories and secure a spot in the Division Series -
The Canadiens’ Targets: The Future of Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby Is the Talk of the Town
via dose.ca
Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid are big names in the NHL.
Ever since the Canadiens have gotten back on track, the names of these two players have been floating around here and there in Montreal. Clearly, Kent Hughes is keeping tabs on the situation.
But will it actually happen? Do these guys really have a chance of ending up in town?
We can all agree that, if these two stars were ever to leave their current teams, the chances of them ending up in Montreal aren't zero. They exist—if the st -
Intro for October 1, 2026
via laineygossip.com
Dear Gossips,Trigger warning for sexual assault. All seven episodes of East of Eden is now available to stream on Netflix which is probably what some of us will be bingeing this weekend – and we can talk about it some more next week. I’ve glanced at a few reviews and so far, not surprisingly, the consensus seems to be that Florence Pugh is the standout, with The Hollywood Reporter noting that she “towers” over the “accomplished” show. Expect East of Eden to be -
Vancouver theatre: Six must-see shows for October
via vancouversun.com
After a summer of big shows at Bard, TUTS, the Arts Club and Queen E, October is teeing up a showcase for intimate, offbeat theatre in cozier confines; storytelling on a smaller scale. That may be just what local audiences want. Secret Ingredients, Kelly Rois O’Brien’s upcoming solo show at Richmond’s Gateway Theatre, sold out its entire run weeks before its mid-October opening. Here are six more hot tickets this month. Mom’s the Word: Talkin’ Turkey When : Oct. 2- -
Bruno Mars, Sting, Doja Cat: The 10 must-see concerts in Vancouver this October
via vancouversun.com
Having bid goodbye to the summer season and started to hunker down for the longer nights and later sunrises of the fall season, heading indoors for some live entertainment seems sensible.Given that the October concert calendar for Vancouver is filled with a wide range of choices, there is something for everyone coming to a Lower Mainland venue this month. Not only are their record-breaking arena runs by big name stars, but new recordings from local legends and even a few loud volumn laughs throw -
Jason Robertson: “Don’t count Montreal out”
via dose.ca
The Jason Robertson situation generated a lot of buzz this summer.
The young player struggled to reach an agreement on contract terms with the Stars. It ultimately resulted in a one-year deal (bringing him close to full free agency), but it wasn't easy.
This season, he's making $12 million. We know he refused to sign a long-term deal anywhere. The Stars (who aren't able to sign him to a long-term contract) had a deal in place to send Robertson to Seattle, but he didn't want to sign a high-paying -
The Padres are set to face the Brewers
via dose.ca
Last night, there were four baseball games. And three teams didn’t make it through.
After seeing the Phillies advance (and force the Braves to play Game 3 at 8 p.m. tonight to determine the Dodgers' opponent), three other teams were eliminated.
The White Sox (who will head to Cleveland) beat the Astros. The Yankees (who will head to Tampa Bay) will face the Rays.
And late last night, the Padres swept the Cubs to earn the right to face the Brewers in the division series.
The Padres won 4-1. -
Top 3: Nathan MacKinnon Unleashes a Barrage on Brandt Clarke
via dose.ca
It was a fairly quiet second night of hockey in the NHL.
Three games were on the schedule.
Here are the results and highlights:The @Avalanche and @penguins skated to high-scoring wins as Wednesday marked the first time since Oct. 7, 1995 (PIT, PHI, and WIN) that multiple teams scored at least seven goals in their season-opening game. #NHLFaceOff pic.twitter.com/EplxvsVw3p

It’s now official for the Rouge et Or
via dose.ca
Laval University's Rouge et Or now tops the rankings of the best college football programs in Canada.
This rise comes just days after a key 42–34 victory over the University of Montreal's Carabins.
The Rouge et Or currently boasts a perfect 4–0 record and has never ranked lower than second since the start of the 2026 season. The Laval team is thus capitalizing on its success against the Carabins to move ahead of its archrivals from Quebec in the national rankings.
The Carabins, the d -
Last Chance for Aaron Rodgers
via dose.ca
Aaron Rodgers has officially entered what is expected to be the final chapter of his NFL career.
The 42-year-old veteran has confirmed that he will play the 2026 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring from professional football. The upcoming game could therefore hold special significance for the legendary quarterback.
After leaving his future in limbo for a long time, Rodgers was much more definitive this time around. During a press conference, he confirmed that this season would be -
The Yankees (once again) crush the Red Sox and advance to the next round
via dose.ca
After watching the Yankees crush the Red Sox 9-0 last night, the Bombardiers had the chance to eliminate the Red Sox with another win tonight.
While last night featured a showdown between young pitchers on the mound—Cam Schlittler and Payton Tolle—two seasoned veterans took the mound tonight. Max Fried was Aaron Boone's go-to guy, while Sonny Gray (with his poor track record in the Bronx) tried to save his team's season.
We had to wait until the fourth inning for the first run: Luis -
Kirill Marchenko: Here’s what the CH was willing to give up for him
via dose.ca
Kirill Marchenko has been on the Habs’ radar over the past few months. And in the end, the Russian was traded… to Toronto.
In return, the Blue Jackets acquired, among others, Matthew Knies, another player who was coveted by Kent Hughes. That's… not ideal.
We know that the Canadiens, despite everything, pushed hard to acquire Marchenko. And David Pagnotta, who discussed the deal for DFO Insider tonight, talked about what the Canadiens were willing to offer to get him.
The insi -
The Predators are interested in three Canadiens defensemen
via dose.ca
The Canadiens still have a surplus of left-handed defensemen within their organization. It's a lesser evil given the current situation with Kaiden Guhle sidelined, but it's still not ideal.
As a result, in addition to Lane Hutson and Mike Matheson (who obviously have guaranteed spots), players like Arber Xhekaj, Jayden Struble, and Adam Engström have to compete for ice time.
And in an ideal world, the Canadiens would probably like to add David Reinbacher (a right-hander) to their roster. Th -
The Astros are out of the playoffs
via dose.ca
After losing the first game of their Wild Card Series against the Chicago White Sox and then publicly criticizing their own fans, the Houston Astros players were trying to avoid elimination in the second game of the series between the two teams.
For the occasion, Hunter Brown was called upon to save the day for Houston, while Sean Burke tried to propel his team to the next round.
And to say the least, things didn't start as planned for the Astros, as the White Sox took the lead right from the st -
Alexander Nikishin wanted to come play in Montreal
via dose.ca
Alexander Nikishin is still a free agent at this time. The Hurricanes defenseman, who has asked the defending champions to trade him, has not yet found a new team.
Several teams have been mentioned (the Jets, Predators, and Rangers, among others), but nothing has materialized.
What we do know is that the Hurricanes have been working hard to trade him. The defenseman has been in talks with teams to find a way to reach an agreement.
And according to David Pagnotta, who discussed all of this on DFO -
Ernie Clement will have to return to his position
via dose.ca
This year, Ernie Clement was a regular. He was the second baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays.
He started the season strong, picking up where he left off in the playoffs. That even earned him a spot in the All-Star Game.
But in the second half of the season, he ran out of steam. Just when the Blue Jays needed offense, he didn't deliver.
So what's next?
Ross Atkins admitted to the media that the starting second base position isn't guaranteed for him moving forward.
The GM said his player will have -
Connor McDavid in Montreal: “It’s not entirely out of the question”
via dose.ca
Okay. So when are we going to find out that Connor McDavid has been traded to the Montreal Canadiens?
I'm asking for a friend… hehe.
Seriously, we can all agree that would be absolutely huge. You know, the kind of trade that shakes up a league and drastically changes the course of things…
What's interesting is that we often hear people say this idea isn't impossible. The topic has been discussed a lot in recent weeks… and Mathias Brunet also thinks it's not necessarily a cra -
The Phillies tie the series: There will be a decisive game
via dose.ca
After watching the Phillies lose the first game of the 2026 playoffs, Don Mattingly's team was back in action this afternoon in Atlanta.
Would this be the interim manager's last game at the helm of the Phillies? The question goes beyond that, but the players have a say in the matter.
Facing Tyler Mahle, who has been on a roll since the Braves acquired him, Bryce Harper got his team on the board.
He made it 1-0 Phillies.

Alexander Zharovsky: We need to talk about his (very) ordinary start to the season
via dose.ca
Not everyone is as good as Ivan!
That's what my boyfriend (and boss, hehe) Maxime Truman told me earlier on the phone when we were talking about Alexander Zharovsky's start to the season in the KHL.
And you know what? Max is right!
Zharo had quite the rookie season in the KHL in '25–'26… but he seems to be struggling to find his footing since the start of the '26–'27 campaign.
One goal and four assists for a total of five points in nine games. He's scored just one measly -
Sean McVay confirms that the NFL acknowledges a major officiating error against the Rams
via dose.ca
The controversy surrounding the Los Angeles Rams' loss to the Denver Broncos has taken a new turn.
Sean McVay revealed Wednesday that the NFL had confirmed to him that the referees had made a mistake on a key pass interference penalty in the final minutes of the game.
The play occurred while the Rams were leading 26-23 with just over a minute left to play. Defensive back Josh Wallace had intercepted a pass from Bo Nix, but a defensive interference penalty nullified the play. The Broncos thus ret -
Good news for Alouettes linebacker Tyrice Beverette
via dose.ca
Tyrice Beverette's outstanding performances with the Montreal Alouettes have not gone unnoticed in the Canadian Football League.
The 31-year-old American linebacker was named one of the players of the month for September, an honor that highlights his significant contribution to the Montreal team's recent successes.
The Alouettes played three games during the month and won two of them. Beverette was particularly productive during that stretch, racking up 20 defensive tackles, along with one inter -

Matthew Knies was once again just one minute away from not being traded
via dose.ca
We all remember what happened at the last trade deadline. Right?
Matthew Knies was just seconds away from becoming a member of the Canadiens organization… but the trade deadline hit.
So the Leafs and the Canadiens didn't have time to complete the trade. Things would be different in the NHL today if it had worked out…
That said, Knies still came within a minute of not being traded this week.
On Monday, the Blue Jackets were able to finalize the trade at the very last minute before 5 -

The Toronto team dominated the early going… but things turned around fairly quickly for the Montreal team.
The result: the Canadiens won that game 3-2, and you can't say they stole the victory (even though the team's star players were relatively quiet).
That said, in Toronto… people are trying to find reasons to explain the loss.
Because in the eyes of journalist Meghan Chayka—who, incidentally, is the s -

Season Over for This Packers Wide Receiver

The Green Bay Packers will have to play without one of their top wide receivers for the remainder of the season.Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Wednesday that Jayden Reed will need surgery to treat a neck injury.

Everything seems to indicate, at this point, that the Canadiens want to make a move.
We know that Kent Hughes has been trying to add a piece to his core for a long time, but he hasn't necessarily been able to achieve his goals.
When will such a project finally succeed? Only time will tell.
But even if he doesn't manage to make a move, we know for certain that the Canadiens' GM is still trying to evaluate all possible scenarios to pull off a trade.
And last night, we got another clue about this.
