Jacob Tierney may not be as famous as Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie but even beyond the Heated Rivalry fandom, he is known for his work, for adapting Rachel Reid’s book into a smash television hit. While most of the attention to do with HR is around Hudson and Connor, Jacob’s in the spotlight right now because he’s just released his own book, I’ll Believe in Anything: The Making of Heated Rivalry season one. Since Girls premiered, Lena Dunham has been the topic of endless conversation, a one-woman think-piece cottage industry. Is she a feminist? Is she reductive? Is she subversive? Is she a white feminist (derogatory)? Is she too privileged to see past her own nose? Is the hatred of her fueled by an undercurrent

Let's dispel a myth right away that—for some reason I can't quite figure out—has persisted over the years: No, I don't actually prefer to see the Canadiens lose. And no, business isn't better when they lose. Quite the opposite!
I'd much rather settle into my office, coffee in hand, to tell you about Jacob Fowler's second straight win than have to sit down at my computer to write about Jakub Dobes's lackluster performance.

The California team had just lost 7-4 and was trailing 2-0 in the series. The Japanese player seemed out of sync at the plate, finishing with no hits in four at-bats and two strikeouts, struggling to make contact with fastballs in the 90 mph range and swinging at pitches well out

One of my lingering question marks for awards season is Behemoth!, the film about film composers written and directed by Tony Gilroy and starring Pedro Pascal. It premiered a couple weeks ago at the New York Film Festival to generally positive reviews, but so far, it doesn’t seem like it’s blowing people out of the water. At this point, if he had wanted to change and become a player who's tough to play against—as they say—he would have done so. He would have started making that transition.
    But he hasn't.

Last night, the Canadiens beat the Sabres. Was it easy? No. Buffalo is a good team, and at times, the Habs were their own worst enemy. One example that comes to mind is Adam Engstrom's deflected shots into his own net.
But the 4-3 shootout win was well-deserved.
It would have been better to win in regulation because regulation wins count as a tiebreaker at the end of the season… but we'll worry about that in March and April. And two points in a shootout are better than a loss.
