Earlier this week, Corey Pronman said on a podcast that Zach Benson faced some crappy teams in the playoffs to justify the young player's low ranking on his list of the top 156 U23 players in the NHL.
And indirectly, it's as if he were saying that the Habs are a crappy team.
His comments caused a stir because we know the reputation of the person in question. And we know he's been pretty harsh on the Habs and their young players in the past.
But now, during a Q&A session on Reddit, Pron

Collapsed During Practice: A Blues Prospect Has Been in a Coma for Five Days
via dose.ca
The NCAA, just like the NHL, is about to resume play. For example, we've seen Michael Hage and his teammates at Michigan gather on campus in the last few hours.
The return of hockey is, more than ever, just around the corner.
That said, we've witnessed a concerning incident in the college hockey circuit over the past few days. A Blues prospect, Matthew Mayich, collapsed during an outdoor practice in Arizona last Thursday.
It was, in fact, the first day of the semester.
And now we've learned that -
Dylan Larkin Feature: “Montreal Is the Destination That Makes Sense”
via dose.ca
It's been more than two months since we learned that Dylan Larkin had asked the Red Wings to trade him. The team's captain, who hasn't played in the playoffs in 10 years, wanted a fresh start.
And he provided a (very) short list of teams he'd be willing to be traded to: the Panthers, the Golden Knights, the Wild, and the Stars.
But as of today, Larkin is still in Detroit. There's no longer a general manager in town, which means Larkin's situation is at a standstill… and the teams on his l -

Roman Anthony’s Schedule
He has no flight scheduled to rejoin the Red Sox.
In Worcester, Roman Anthony says he “has no flight booked” to return to the Red Sox but feels close to being ready and thinks Friday in New York is a possibility.

'What a life. What a songwriter. What a woman': B.C.'s Michael Bublé honours Dolly Parton in heartfelt post
via vancouversun.com
Michael Bublé took to Instagram to pay tribute to singer Dolly Parton, who died at age 80 on Tuesday. The B.C.-born Bublé recorded the Christmas song Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas with Parton for her 2020 holiday album titled A Holly Dolly Christmas. On his Instagram account, the Burnaby crooner posted a black-and-white photo of the iconic Parton with the words: “What a life. Brady Tkachuk seems to think Seattle is in Canada
via dose.ca
The Tkachuk brothers are making headlines.
Not necessarily for the right reasons. We know Brady isn't the brightest, and in a video making the rounds online, he's once again made a fool of himself.
Matthew was surprised that his little brother had been booed in Calgary. So he asked him if he'd been booed in every Canadian city. Brady replied that he hadn't been booed in Vancouver, Edmonton, or Seattle.
No, Seattle isn't in Canada.
Does he even know that?Brady Tkachuk says Canadian fans hate him -
Simon Nemec: Leaving New Jersey suits him just fine
via dose.ca
Some good players were selected in the 2022 draft.
Juraj Slafkovsky and Lane Hutson are obviously two of them, and the Devils had high hopes for Simon Nemec, who was selected right after Slaf.
Unfortunately, his time with the Devils was short-lived: he was traded to the Flames this summer. In return, the Devils' new GM, Sunny Mehta, acquired Etienne Morin, a second-round pick, and two first-round picks. A great deal.
Nemec admitted today, during the European players' media tour, that he was happ -
Blue Jays: An Update on the Rotation and Injured Players
via dose.ca
As you probably know, the Blue Jays announced that Shane Bieber is heading to the injured list for a few weeks. He felt some discomfort on Sunday, which led to a series of tests. And the team's disastrous season in terms of injuries continues…
Will he return this season? According to John Schneider, it's possible. Nothing is certain, however. Will he return too late? That's also a question.
Basically, the pitcher won't be able to pitch for two weeks. After that, his recovery will depend on -
The latest news on Quinn Hughes
via dose.ca
What does the future hold for Quinn Hughes?
I don't know. But with all the rumors swirling around him, it seems like I'm relieved I'm not a Wild fan.
That said…
That said, there are currently no trade discussions involving Quinn Hughes, despite the rumors that have been circulating over the past few days.
Instead, the Minnesota Wild reportedly have their sights set on a single goal: reaching a contract extension agreement with their star defenseman.

Remembering Dolly Parton: A look back at her Vancouver concerts
via vancouversun.com
Global icon Dolly Parton died today in her hometown of Nashville. The beloved singer, songwriter, actress, author, playwright and philanthropist was 80 years old.Born on Jan. 19, 1946, in a one-room cabin in Pittman Centre, Tenn., Dolly Rebecca Parton was the fourth of 12 children. She was part of a poor sharecropping family, whose house echoed with songs from her mother’s Welsh ancestors, Smoky Mountain folk songs, and her preacher grandfather’s Pentecostal hymns. All of these eleme -
The Red Sox Show Disrespect Toward Their Manager
via dose.ca
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Why am I bringing up that cliché today? Because the Boston Red Sox might need a little reminder of it.
When they let Alex Cora go, Chad Tracy was named interim manager. The deal was this: we're going to test you out and evaluate our options. That was the right move for Boston at the time.
That said, at this point, Chris Cotillo (MassLive) reports that nothing is guaranteed regarding his long-term position.
In other words? The Red Sox will likely -
Erik Karlsson in Toronto: A Possible Scenario (According to Elliotte Friedman)
via dose.ca
In a recent episode of his “32 Thoughts” podcast, Elliotte Friedman explored the possibility of Erik Karlsson ending up in Toronto next season.
And this isn't necessarily a prediction made out of thin air.
Friedman, in fact, mentioned that someone had suggested to him that Karlsson would finish next season in Toronto… and the source clearly isn't ruling it out. At the very least, he believes the scenario could become interesting… under certain conditions.

Dolly Parton, always
via laineygossip.com
Dolly Parton has passed away. Her death was confirmed by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, earlier today on her social media channels.Icon, legend, superstar – all of these words apply. But also, in spite of her fame, Dolly Parton never seemed inaccessible. It’s why even for those who don’t listen to country music and may not know her entire catalogue, she was revered. And that’s what makes her so singular. At a time when everything is so fractured, from politics to sports and cu -
MC’s MUSIC LOUNGE: #JusticeForGlitter
via laineygossip.com
This September marks the 25th anniversary of Mariah Carey’s infamous film and soundtrack project Glitter. Most of you reading this will likely remember this time in Mariah’s career, a time that she speaks on extensively in her memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey. Between the sabotage from her former record label and ex-husband, the horrendous critic reviews of the film and ill-fated release date of the film’s soundtrack (9/11), this project was doomed from the start.

IMAGE: The new logo in the center of the ice at the Bell Centre is magnificent
via dose.ca
There’s something new in the center of the Bell Centre’s ice rink.
The Canadiens have installed a logo that gives the ice a rather different look.
Of course, it features the traditional “CH” in the center, surrounded by the words “Montréal Canadiens.”
But what really catches the eye is the slightly retro look, which stands in stark contrast to the much more modern logo fans are used to seeing in the center of the ice. And honestly, it looks pretty cool. -
Shane Bieber is placed on the injured list

Recently, Shane Bieber had bounced back in Toronto.
With the team now fighting for a playoff spot, it goes without saying that his strong comeback was helping the team in its quest for October baseball.

Michael Hage arrived on the University of Michigan campus
via dose.ca
Michael Hage has indeed arrived on the University of Michigan campus, where he has reunited with his teammates.
The young Canadiens prospect took part in the Wolverines' first team meeting, a pretty clear sign of the direction he seems to be heading.
The door isn't completely closed yet on the possibility of him signing a contract with the Canadiens and starting the season in the NHL. But…
All things considered, it's starting to get a little late for that to happen, even though there's no -
The Yankees must buy out Giancarlo Stanton’s contract
via dose.ca
Just last week, we learned that Giancarlo Stanton's season was likely over after he fell while running the bases while rehabilitating from a calf injury and injured his other calf.
Although manager Aaron Boone hasn't ruled out a return for the slugger in 2026, he acknowledged that it will be difficult for him to come back in time—which, in the words of the New York Yankees manager, means we won't see him in the Bronx this year.
And perhaps not next year either. That's because Jean-Carl is -
Simone Ashley: Falling (in love) and Singing

Simone Ashley most recent work isn’t acting but music. As many people have already pointed out, this is unfair. We’ve seen how talented she is onscreen. And, like, look at her. And she can sing too??!

Martin St-Louis will coach the Canadiens “for as long as he wants”
via dose.ca
Martin St-Louis's contract is causing quite a stir.
My colleague Maxime Truman actually touched on the subject this morning… and he agrees with everyone else: this whole thing should be settled soon.
That makes sense. And that's true even though I think it's time for a contract—whether his or that of one of the team's two restricted free agents—to be signed.
St-Louis has never seemed worried (at least publicly) about his contract situation. Why? There are undoubtedly several r -
Harry and Meghan on the cover

The news that Prince Harry and Meghan Sussex were returning to England last week is still a major story in what’s otherwise a slow time in entertainment news. David Reinbacher: “I hope he had a good summer”

Three years ago, David Reinbacher was drafted by the Canadiens.
At the time, we thought that three years later, he'd be a regular in the NHL… but that's not the case. Injuries, in particular, have changed the situation.
But you already knew that.
Naturally, we don't know what lies ahead for Reinbacher this fall. He'll undoubtedly want to earn a full-time spot with the Canadiens, but it's unclear whether he'll be able to do so as early as next month.
He'll certainly get his chance, but the -
