And you thought Ottawa was finished with hellish winter weather.
Environment Canada on Saturday afternoon issued a special weather statement for Ottawa and Gatineau forecasting heavy snowfall on Sunday.
The weather service says an approaching Colorado low will arrive in eastern Ontario early Sunday and will hover over the region for most of the day.
Snowfall amounts could be in the range of 10-15 centimetres.
Of course, this being a cruel winter, you can also expect more than just snow.

On-street parking rates under scrutiny by city

Boswell: If we can set our sights on the moon, surely we can fix potholes?
On the day last week when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada will join a U.S.-led mission to the moon, my Honda Civic and I nearly disappeared into a crater right here on Earth.
While the PM was doing his best John F. Kennedy impression, pledging $150 million to the Canadian Space Agency over five years and vowing to put a Canuck astronaut in lunar orbit within a decade, I took seven small steps for man to the front of my car to see if the right wheel was still attached.

Kingston: Syrian refugee, mother of 4, in critical condition after struck by SUV
A Syrian refugee and mother of four small children remains in critical condition after she was struck by large SUV while walking on a Kingston sidewalk earlier this week.
“She is in the same condition as when she came in,” Anwer Khan told Postmedia of his friend, Abeer Abo Hajar.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Kingston’s Bath Road at about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Helping Ottawa's most vulnerable find work: Causeway Work Centre director calls it a career
Don Palmer knows the value of a job. For the past quarter century, he’s been helping some of Ottawa’s most vulnerable find work and the meaning it brings to their lives.

Vanier's rise would be return to area's past
Once, it was an industrial powerhouse that helped fuel the economic fortunes of the nation’s capital.
It had many names over the years: Junction Gore, Cummings Island and Janeville, Clarkstown and Clandeboye in the mid-1800s.
Those latter three make up what would we know today as Vanier.
By the 1840s, pioneer Charles Cummings had acquired an island in the Rideau River, south of Montreal Road, and constructed a wooden bridge. The bridge opened the area to families of modest means who worked -
'It's Vanier's time': Ottawa neighbourhood set for $50M renewal project
Business is good these days for Robert Richard LeBlanc.
The owner of Bobby’s Table, a small family restaurant located on Montreal Road, always seems to be busy.

The diner was born in 2009 from the ashes of the famed Nate’s Deli on Rideau Street, and has since become somewhat of a fixture in Vanier. It attracts customers from across the city and plays host to a -

Weather for springing forward: Sun today, then snow, ice pellets, rain, flurries
It’s not quite time to put away the puffy jackets as the clocks advance one hour closer to spring tonight.
It’s going to get a bit messy out there overnight and Sunday, but if you wait a few days, it gets better, as they say.
Environment Canada is predicting a sunny Saturday, with winds up to 15 km/h and a high of 0 C, mild enough to chip away at some of that ice. The wind chill will be a nippy -19 in the morning.

Re: ‘Erosion of trust,’ March 8.
The prime minister stated that there was an “erosion of trust” at the core of the SNC-Lavalin affair. An erosion of trust does not abstractly occur. The prime minister created that atmosphere by getting his clerk of the Privy Council, senior staff and colleagues to try to persuade the attorney general to change her decision over a period of several months as a result of SNC lobbying.

Editorial: What do LRT and LeBreton have in common? Expect delays
This week’s theme in local events: delays in big projects – and the scramble to overcome them.
On Wednesday, Ottawa councillors learned officially that the opening of the Confederation Line, a.k.a Phase One of the LRT, is delayed again. The private consortium building the East-West spine has been blowing through deadlines since mid-2018, and now won’t hand over light rail to the city until perhaps the end of June.
