Rivalry heats up, Redblacks hope for first-ever win in Calgary
CALGARY — Like gladiators slugging it out in a coliseum, the Ottawa Redblacks and Calgary Stampeders will stare each other down for the third straight meaningful time on Thursday night.
This time, the stage is McMahon Stadium, where the Redblacks have never won — their 0-3 mark includes lopsided defeats of 48-23 (2016), 48-3 (2015) and 38-17 (2014). Ottawa got a measure of revenge last year, winning the Grey Cup with a 39-33 victory in Toronto.

Drug companies should be required to reveal payments to doctors: author
The Canadian medical profession is too close to pharmaceutical companies for comfort, warns a Toronto physician and expert in pharmaceutical policy.
Dr. Joel Lexchin, author of Doctors in Denial, says Canadians deserve better accountability about how much money pharmaceutical companies are spending to try to influence doctors and the health industry.

Many kind words about Canadian research, but few funding details from federal science minister
Canada is doing a bang-up job of supporting research, says Science Minister Kirsty Duncan, but it’s still too early for details on what she will do about calls to support “basic” science.

Glavin: A better way forward on indigenous-federal relations
If you’re the sort of person who insists that Canada’s indigenous people are shirkers, shakedown artists, swindlers and tax cheats who should just let it go and shut up about residential schools, you’ll want to give this column a pass. If you really believe that Canada 150 is no time to notice the cruelty in Canada’s history and the ongoing alienation from the rest of us that so disfigures indigenous communities across the country, there’s no point in trying to conv -

Though the story received only passing coverage in western media outlets, it sent shock waves through Taiwan. While the minutiae of Taiwanese diplomacy may seem of little importance to most Canadians, the Taiwan question is one that they would do well to consider.

A ride in an Uber taxi will be a little more expensive as of Canada Day with federal tax added to the app’s taxi fares.

Drugs are consumed on the sidewalks and drug deals are done in the shadows a -

Bloomberg’s Anthony Capaccio has obtained a copy of a May 8 presentation written for the DoD. The availability of spare parts for the 203 F-35s already assigned to bases “is getting worse, affecting fly rates” and pilot training, Capaccio writes. Reliabi
