    3.6-Magnitude Quake Centered Near Kingvale Shakes High Country
    KINGVALE (CBS13) — A small earthquake rattled the Sierra Nevada early Wednesday morning.
    According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude 3.6 quake hit just before 1:30 a.m. It was centered just north of Kingvale.
    USGS’s shake map shows the quake being felt as far east as the California-Nevada stateliness and all the way down to the foothills, just past Auburn, to the west.
    No damage has been reported.

    Fight Leads To Stabbing Outside Of Stockton Home
    STOCKTON (CBS13) – A suspect is sought after a confrontation outside of a Stockton home led to one person being stabbed, police said on Saturday.
    According to the Stockton Police Department, reports of the stabbing came in just before noon from the 1900 block of Vicki Lane in the Park District.

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – An employee who was found to have placed a Confederate flag inside of an Elk Grove Unified van has been fired, the school district announced in a letter to families.
    On June 30, the district had announced two employees were placed on administrative leave after a parent had spotted them driving the van with the flag inside the cabin, which officials later found. The district did not identify the employee who was fired.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – A suspect is in custody after a fatal stabbing overnight in Modesto, police said on Saturday.
    According to the Modesto Police Department, officers were dispatched at around 2:30 a.m. to Crocker Lane in the southwest area of the city.
    There was a gathering at the address and one person, only described as a male, was found stabbed, police said. He died later at the hospital.
