  • Friends Remember Lloyd Chavez As Case Moves Through Court System

    CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) – At least one of the teenagers involved in the shooting death of a fellow classmate in Centennial will now be tried as a juvenile. Investigators believe 18-year-old Lloyd Chavez was targeted for robbery by a cheerleader and three other teens because he sold vaping products.

    DENVER (CBS4) – More than a year later, the developer of a construction site which caught fire plans to rebuild. The devastating fire killed two construction workers at 18th Avenue and Emerson Place.

  • Arvada: Leaking Tank Cause For Fluoride Shortage

    ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) – The city of Arvada says there will not be any supplemental fluoride in municipal water until sometime in 2020. The tank storing the liquid fluoride has a leak.
    Attempts to repair the problem have been unsuccessful, officials say.
    In September, CBS4 covered an ongoing fluoride shortage in Longmong. There are no state regulations which require fluoride in community water.

  • Truck Spills Fuel Into Blue River In Breckenridge After Sliding Off Icy Road

    BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) – A truck that crashed into the Blue River after sliding on icy roads Monday morning sent about 30 gallons of diesel fuel into the stream and forced officials to deploy containment booms in the river. Red White and Blue Fire Protection District crews responded to the crash at about 8:30 am Monday and found the truck nose first in the river.
