On the Friday before Easter weekend, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported over 1.5 million screenings at airport checkpoints.     Denver Mart has closed, and its real estate is officially under new ownership.
    Denver Mart Industrial Partners JV LLLP purchased the 458 E. 58th Ave. parcel on March 31 for $31 million, according to public records. That entity is affiliated with Denver-based development firm Westfield Co.
    A Westfield executive did not respond to a request for comment on Friday.
    The property is approximately 30 acres, meaning Westfield paid just over $1 million per acre, or $23 a square foot for the land.

    (CBS4) – Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office learned in March 2019 that a 13-year-old student received an inappropriate photo from a man. The sheriff’s office’s child sex offender internet investigations unit, known as CHEEZO, then took over the child’s digital persona.
    The suspect sent more inappropriate images of himself to the investigator portraying the victim.

(CBS4) – A small plane crashed in a rugged area northwest of Deckers on Saturday and members of a rescue operation that reached the crash site on Sunday determined the pilot died. The plane was first reported missing on Saturday. Eventually, the downed plane’s location was discovered from aircraft overhead on Sunday.

    (CBS4) – A 41-year-old man is under arrest after police say he stole a firefighter’s vehicle in Commerce City, led police on a chase and later attempted to carjack a woman. Jeremy Brandon Chavez was arrested Sunday morning on charges of aggravated motor vehicle theft, attempted robbery and vehicular eluding.
