    (CBS Local) — An injectable male contraceptive which lasts approximately 13 years has successfully completed a clinical trial and could be available to the public within the next seven months, scientists in India say.

    WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA) – Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration shot a suspect during a raid in a residential neighborhood in Woodland Hills in the early morning hours Wednesday.
    At about 3:45 a.m., agents were serving a search warrant in the 5000 block of Nora Lynn Drive when they came across an armed suspect, the DEA said in a statement.

  • Water Main Break Causes Slope To Collapse Along Atlantic In Monterey Park

    MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA) — A slope along Atlantic Boulevard in Monterey Park collapsed early Wednesday due to a water main break.
    Mud, tree branches and debris spilled over a retaining wall along Atlantic Boulevard, not far from where it intersects Garvey Avenue.
    The slope, directly beneath apartments along Atlantic, spilled over the retaining wall in at least two places.
    Atlantic, south of Mable Street, is partially closed while crews clean up the mess and make repairs.

    LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A man is dead Wednesday after a car-to-car shooting in the South Los Angeles area.
    LAPD officials say they were called to Van Ness Street near Gramercy Prak just before midnight Tuesday to investigate the shooting.
    A preliminary investigation found a car had been driving on Van Ness when another car pulled up alongside. Several shots were fired from the second car.

    LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to capital murder charges in the fatal stabbing of a cab driver in a Burger King parking lot.
    Victor Daniel Torres, 32, was arraigned Tuesday in a Los Angeles courtroom in connection with last Friday’s killing of 68-year-old Burbank resident Oganes Papazyan.
    Torres is accused of killing Papazyan in a Burger King parking lot located at Grand and Cesar E. Chavez Avenue in Chinatown after being picked up from Union Station.
