    Contractor jailed for filling old quarry with hazardous waste
    A rogue contractor has been jailed for allowing thousands of tonnes of waste to be illegally deposited at a former limestone quarry in Somerset.
    Mark Foley, of Cardiff, was jailed for two years and three months for illegally disposing of 100,000 tonnes of waste at Stowey Quarry, near Chew Valley reservoir.
    The offence happened during 2016, sparking an intensive investigation by the Environment Agency into the management of the site.

    Scaffolding collapsed on the fifth floor of a luxury apartment block under construction in Glasgow yesterday during high winds.
