THE price of Bonny Light, Nigeria’s premium oil grade, has risen from $63.00 to $64.30 per barrel at the international market, the highest in the past three weeks.
The latest price showed an excess of $7.30 per barrel against the $57.00 reference price of the nation’s 2020 Budget.
Market watchers attributed the sudden leap in price to the continued efforts of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, to achieve stability in the volatile oil market.

Falling palm tree hits owner to death in Enugu community

A falling palm tree has killed its owner at Imufu Community in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. Chukwujama Eze, of Umuojobo clan, was killed when a palm tree he had sold to a palm-wine tapper from a neighbouring village was being uprooted.

Nigeria’s oil earnings dip by 2.6% to N3.97trn in 9 months ― CBN

Nigeria’s earnings from the oil and gas industry declined by 2.62 per cent to N3.973 trillion in the first nine months of the year, from January to September 2019, according to data obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The CBN, in its Economic Report for the Third Quarter of 2019, disclosed that gross oil revenue in the nine-month period dipped slightly by N107 billion, compared to N4.08 trillion recorded in the same period in 2018.

Klopp signs new five-year contract at Liverpool
