Scientists find evidence of Saraswati’s existence
A new research — led by the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, in collaboration with IIT-Bombay — has reported “unequivocal evidence” that there existed a perennial river on the plains of northwestern India. The river, according to the researchers, flowed roughly along the course of the modern Ghaggar. Researchers say that this river was the Saraswati mentioned in the Rig Veda. -

The impending transfer of the Russian-origin INS Sindhuvir is part of India’s continuing policy to counter China’s strategic inroads into Myanmar. The 3,000-tonne INS Sindhuvir may be 31 years old but it has undergone regular refits in India and Russia over the years, with the latest modernisation work being undertaken on the diesel-electric boat at Hindustan Shipyard Limited in Visakhapatnam. -

This process takes about 5-10 minutes. As per the current norm, once a FASTag is issued, the KYC has to be done within a year. The KYC is done by banking correspondents and going by the market standard, banks spend at least Rs 300 on each case. -
