• Disco seeks 2nd win since return in finale

    The series with the Pirates concludes with Sunday's 1:35 p.m. ET game at PNC Park. Anthony DeSclafani will make his third start of the season since coming off the disabled list with a strained left oblique. DeSclafani earned his first win since Sept. 28, 2016, with five-plus innings and three runs allowed (two earned) in last Sunday's 6-3 victory over the Cardinals. In six career starts against the Pirates, DeSclafani is 1-2 with a 3.41 ERA. Pittsburgh will start right-hander Joe Musgrove.

  • Reds waste chances, Harvey's effort vs. Bucs

    It was easy to feel that even though the Reds were leading the Pirates on Friday night, there wouldn't be a happy ending for Cincinnati. There were numerous missed chances to score more runs and starting pitcher Matt Harvey had dodged some danger. Sure enough, the Reds were handed a 3-2 defeat by Pittsburgh at PNC Park.

  • Castillo looks to carry momentum vs. Bucs

    In a 4:05 p.m. ET first pitch on Saturday at PNC Park, the Reds will send Luis Castillo to pitch against Pittsburgh's Ivan Nova. In a 6-4 loss to the Cardinals last Saturday, Castillo matched a career high with 10 strikeouts while pitching six innings. But he struggled early and three of his four hits allowed were for extra bases. He retired 10 of his last 11 batters, however.
