• Black Ice Causes Numerous Accidents During Morning Rush Hour

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Black ice created hazardous road conditions during the Wednesday morning rush hour all across the area, especially in Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
    By 6:30 a.m., emergency dispatchers in Allegheny County were reporting at least 10 accidents caused by black ice out on the roadways.
    Some of those places included Saw Mill Run Boulevard at Crane Avenue, Noblestown Road at Idlewood Avenue in Scott Township, Butler Street near Baker Street in Lawrenceville

    EAST FALLOWFIELD, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say a collision between a van and a pickup truck killed three people in northwestern Pennsylvania and injured several others.
    State police said the crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. Friday in East Fallowfield Township.

    WICKLIFFE, Ohio (AP) – Police say a 2-year-old girl has been accidentally shot and killed by her mother at a hotel outside of Cleveland.
    Wickliffe police in a statement say emergency crews were called to an Econo Lodge around 11 p.m. Friday. A police officer and paramedics tried to resuscitate the girl, who was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

    DUQUESNE, Pa. (KDKA) — A Duquesne police officer was injured after confronting a burglary suspect on West Oliver Avenue on Saturday.
    The confrontation occurred at J & S Food Mart on Grant Avenue. When the officer, who is currently at the hospital being treated for what appears to be a broken arm, approached 39-year-old Richard Henley, a fight ensued. Henley was able to get away after injuring the officer.
