• Ohio wreck kills two Northeast Indiana residents

    HARDIN COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) – The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office said two peopled died, and three others were injured, in a wreck Sunday night. The victims pronounced dead at the scene have been identified at Marcus Daniel Croy, 33, of Fort Wayne and Columbia City resident, 29-year-old Ann Michelle Halferty.
    The Sheriff’s Office reported it happened around 9:45 p.m. on Ohio 117 near Ohio 67 about 20 miles southeast of Lima. A 39-year-old woman and her two children were also hurt

  • Purdue coach doesn’t believe Haas will play even with brace

    WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue coach Matt Painter said he does not expect starting center Isaac Haas to play again this season — even if the NCAA approves a brace to protect his fractured right elbow.
    The 7-foot-2 senior was injured in an NCAA Tournament win over Cal State Fullerton. Team trainers fitted Haas with a large brace to protect his arm and he worked out with his teammates Saturday but he was wearing a brace that would not have allowed him to play for safety reasons.

    DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — A 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he drove onto and damaged the Iowa baseball field made famous by the 1989 “Field of Dreams” movie.
