• Facebook to release Russia ads to Congress amid pressure

    NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook will provide the contents of 3,000 ads bought by a Russian agency to congressional investigators.
    The move Thursday comes amid growing pressure on the social network from members of Congress, who pushed it to release the ads. Facebook has already handed over the ads to federal authorities investigating Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — A western Indiana jury has found a woman guilty of nine counts of neglect in the death of a 9-year-old blind boy with cerebral palsy who weighed just 15 pounds.
    The Tribune-Star reports the Vigo County jury deliberated three hours Thursday before convicting 54-year-old Robin Kraemer of Fontanet. She’s scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 19 and faces a potential prison term of 20 to 40 years on the most serious charge.

  • Business owners react to problem property ordinance

     
    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Business owners around the Summit City reacted Thursday to the proposal of a ordinance fighting problem properties.
    Fort Wayne City Council President Tom Didier laid out the plan Wednesday while standing along side with Fort Wayne’s police chief and Mayor Tom Henry, among others.

    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The family of an unarmed black man fatally shot by Indianapolis police during a traffic stop is suing the city, its police department and two officers, alleging excessive force.
    The federal lawsuit filed Wednesday alleges that Aaron Bailey’s constitutional rights were violated when the two officers fired on him June 29. It contends that Officers Carlton Howard and Michael Dinnsen used excessive force that was “objectively and subjectively unreasonable”

    Brian R. LashBrian R. Lash was last seen by friends and family on August 30 at the Best Western hotel in Kendallville. No one has heard from him since, according to Kendallville Police.

  • One killed in crash on U.S. 30 in Van Wert

    VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio (WANE)  One person was killed in a crash on U.S. involving three vehicles Wednesday morning.
    Police said a semi driven by a Pennsylvania man was heading west on U.S. 30 in Van Wert County, Ohio and slowed for traffic in a construction zone.
    Bert Helsel, 63, of Minster, Ohio, was directly behind the semi and also began to slow down.
    Another semi hit Helsel’s car from behind and pushed it into the back of the first semi.
