    CHICAGO (AP) — White Sox reliever Danny Farquhar suffered a brain hemorrhage while in the dugout during a game Friday night, and is in stable but critical condition.
    Farquhar passed out in the sixth inning, and was helped by team medical personnel and on-site EMTs. He regained consciousness before he was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

  • Hawaii Rescue Boat Operator Accused Of Demanding Money From Flood Victims

     (CNN) — When the heavy rainstorms hit the Hawaiian island of Kauai, teams of volunteers climbed into their boats and got to work, rescuing those who found themselves trapped.
    But some of those rescued said they were the victims of a scam when they were told to either pay or be left stranded.
    Kauai Police said Friday those complaints led them to arrest boat operator Stephen Koehne, 33, on suspicion of extortion, robbery and terroristic threatening. He has not been formally charged.

    PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — A former police officer in southern Colorado has been sentenced to more than a year in jail after pleading guilty to attempted sexual assault.
    Former Pueblo Police Cpl. Benjamin Candelaria also pleaded guilty to official misconduct and must register as a sex offender.

    DENVER (AP) — Environmentalists are asking an appeals court to reinstate a rule restricting harmful methane emissions on U.S. lands, at least temporarily.
    Attorneys for 13 groups on Friday asked a federal appeals court in Denver to block an order by a lower court that halted the regulation.

    DENVER (CBS4) — Three men and a woman were sentenced Friday for their roles in the shooting death of a Loveland man 17 months ago during a planned marijuana sale.
