• Schumer: FDA must reverse decision delaying e-cig regulation

    NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer is calling on the federal government to reverse a recent decision to delay the regulation of e-cigarettes.
    The New York Democrat said Sunday that the Food and Drug Administration should reconsider its decision announced earlier this year to put regulating electronic cigarettes on hold.
    FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb the delay would give the agency time to determine how e-cigarettes fit into its overall strategy for tobacco regulation.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) –There are a lot of opportunities around Western New York for kids to get involved in. One however is unique and not something that gets very much attention.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police officers as well as agencies from all over the region were back on the Niagara River searching for Officer Craig Lehner Sunday.
    The veteran member of the police force has been missing since Friday afternoon, just before 1p.m.. Lt. Jeff Rinaldo has informed us they are now only searching for Officer Lehner; believing a rescue is unlikely.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The search efforts for missing Buffalo police diver Craig Lehner were suspended Saturday evening until Sunday morning. Dozens of law enforcement agencies have been searching along the Niagara River for two days trying to find him.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The search efforts for missing Buffalo police diver Craig Lehner resumed on Sunday morning. Dozens of law enforcement agencies have been searching along the Niagara River for three days trying to find him.

    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – The UB football team was bit by the injury bug once again on Saturday afternoon in a 14-13 loss to MAC foe Northern Illinois.
    To start the game, starting quarterback Tyree Jackson was ruled out for the third week in a row, batting a knee injury. Steeping in in his place once again was Drew Anderson.

    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 35-year-old man is dead and a 21-year-old man behind bars following a deadly shooting in Niagara Falls
    Police say they received a call for a man shot at 19th and Walnut around 10:20 a.m. Saturday.
    When they arrived, witnesses told police a man had been shot in the parking lot and was put into a car and driven off. A call was then made to police from NF Memorial Medical Center saying a person was brought in with a gunshot wound.

  • Marijuana, loaded gun and large quantity of cash found during search warrant

    JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man has is behind bars, accused of receiving and selling large quantities of marijuana.
    23-year-old Bryan Torres was taken into custody after several agencies executed a search warrant at a home at 35 Lakeview Avenue.
    Investigators say inside they found more than 15 pounds of marijuana, a loaded shot gun, a bullet proof vest and a total of $47,693.
    The investigation revealed Torres was receiving and trafficking the marijuana from the location.
