• Hogan Administration Works To Keep Redskins In Maryland

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Gov. Hogan is making moves to keep the home of the Redskins in Maryland.
    The state quietly made an agreement with the National Park Service back in 2017 to re-purpose the Oxon Cove Park and Oxon Hill Farm as a future stadium site.
    The state made no announcement at the time, and local leaders were unaware of the deal.
    The 300-acre site sits across 95, from National Harbor and MGM Casino.
    This comes amid speculation that the Redskins are returning home to D.C. at a proposed

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland senator says the federal farm bill makes more money available to help the Chesapeake Bay.
    Sen. Chris Van Hollen said Tuesday the measure includes parts of his Chesapeake Bay Farm Bill Enhancements Act.
    The measure contains $300 million for the Regional Conservation Partnership Program each year.
    It provides funding to conservation groups and farmers to work together to cut pollution and improve water quality.

  • Relief Effort Sees Oysters Thriving In Chesapeake Bay After Freshwater Threat

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Between the Key Bridge and Fort Carroll Island, there is a man-made oyster reef that was laid down in 2017 by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
    The reef was made using old oyster shells to carry three million baby oysters called spat, into the Patapsco River.
