  • Early Morning Fire in Edgewood Destroys Two-Story Home

    EDGEWOOD, MD- Firefighters were called to the 2900 block of Siwanoy Drive around 5:20 a.m. Saturday for a report of a house fire.
    Responding units located a two-story dwelling engulfed in flames upon arrival.
    Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company aided the Abingdon Fire Company in putting out the fire.
    Officials say there were no firefighter or civilian injuries in this fire.
    The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Police are searching for a woman who went missing after her boat capsized on the Chester River.
    Maryland Natural Resource Police say 16 other people on board the 32-foot boat are safe. They are now joining first responders from Kent and Queen Anne’s county in searching for the woman.

  • Maryland Zoo Cheetah Brothers Celebrate 4th Birthday

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Maryland Zoo cheetah brothers turned four years old Friday.
    The zoo said the celebration featured special treats like “bloodsicles” and lard, as well as cardboard enrichment items with unique designs.
    Refu and Wgasa arrived from the San Diego Wildlife Safari Park in May 2016, taking residence in the African Journey section of the zoo. The pair is named for historical locations within that park.
