    A Santa Ana man was killed Saturday, Jan. 20 when he lost control of his off-road vehicle in the Mojave Desert, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.
    Nathan Bailey, 44, was driving in the foothills northeast of Means Dry Lake, according to a coroner’s report. That’s in the Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle area northwest of Landers.

    Santa Ana Council to reconsider $1 million subsidy to auto dealers for freeway billboard
    SANTA ANA – The City Council plans to take another look – reluctantly – at its agreement to give auto dealers $1 million for a new digital billboard along the 55 freeway.
    City Manager Raul Godinez is bringing back the issue with new recommendations: hold a public hearing, analyze how the subsidy to the dealerships would benefit the public, and create a new agreement that doesn’t call for dipping into the city’s reserves.

    SANTA ANA — A pregnant woman was shot while sitting in a parked car Saturday night, but is expected to survive, police said.
