• HTC crane drivers reject pay offer

    The UK’s largest tower crane operator is facing an outbreak of industrial action over the summer after its drivers rejected a 3% pay offer.
    Over 50 crane drivers working for HTC Wolffkran unanimously rejected the offer at a mass meeting on Wednesday.
    Now construction union bosses at Unite are threatening a full industrial action ballot in early summer, unless the company significantly improves its pay offer.

    Developer and contractor Henry Boot is pressing ahead with a raft of development and construction schemes after enjoying a strong uplift in pre-tax profit.
    Profit for 2016 rose 22% to nearly £40m after 74% growth in revenue to £307m, driven mainly by the property investment and development arm.

    The building, which is expected to cost up to £30m to build, already has planning.
